We can see that these "bronies" are a knowledge community. No one here came to My Little Pony alone. They interpret the show collectively. Participating in this knowledge community enhances the experience for these fans. In fact, you can see that it empowers them. In many cases, bronies find a sense of identity here by subverting conventional gender norms.

Bronies may be subverting traditional gender norms, but at the same time, we can see that they affirm the values of the show. The paratexts--the artifacts of Bronyism--are supplemental. As the previous commenter notes, participating in this community enhances the experience of interpretation for Bronies. The community also frames their continued interpretation of new episodes

The Brony community appropriates the My Little Pony to create a sense of identity. There is something very creative about this performativity. Bronies are actively playing with their gender and how they embody gender. These fan practices remind me of cosplay, an embodied practice, which also challenge the boundaries between reality and fiction

One, it's "morons," not "morones," you ignorant fool. If Bronies choose to reject an oppressive heteronormative system, then more power to them. Enjoy your homophobic cave, Anonymous.
